Our mission is: to create the best hand crafted skis on the market whose durability and quality surpass all competitors; to cultivate a positive mountain environment dedicated to sustainability through local sourcing and reduced product waste; and to craft the perfect ski for any condition the mountain provides.
We can't express how excited and honored we are to be making skis in a place that continually astonishes us with its natural beauty, magnificent mountains and passionate folks. Our hope is that you enjoy riding our skis as much as we enjoy crafting them.
Lithic Skis is Ty Bourgeois and Paul Roberts, and we are Washington State’s only independent ski making company. We are a ski company, not a brand company. That means that our dedication to quality, detail, and precision is unparalleled. Our skis are so custom built, that we even built the machines they are made on. We began simply and humbly in the heart of Washington State in the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range. Two best friends who did not perfect the art of ski making in a garage or our parent's basement, but rather we learned our craft from some of the best ski makers in today's independent ski scene. We took what we learned in North Lake Tahoe to Peshastin, WA so that we can give Washington State skiers the best ski that their money can buy.
We spent last winter prototyping and perfecting the shapes that you see in our current lineup; skiing everything from variable backcountry snow to resort corduroy and deep pillow lines in search of making skis we believe you'll truly enjoy. Our skis are made to order using the highest quality materials to ensure a durable, well crafted and uniquely designed product.
We handcraft every pair of Lithic skis specifically for each of our cherished customers by combining innovative, progressive shapes with traditional sandwich ski construction. Our factory's intentionally designed layout encourages short lead times for each ski we build. And with that, we don't simply pull a stock model off the shelf, box it up and ship it out. Alternatively, we receive your order, handcraft the necessary parts to your specifications, press, tune and ship all within a short two-week window. No one else in the country can say that. Building skis to order resists the tendency to overbuild an inventory that wastes precious materials based on inaccurate product forecasts.
With all that being said, don't be alarmed when your skis have not appeared three days after you ordered them. It's better to sit back, break out your rock skis a few more times and rest assured that when your Lithic Skis do arrive, they were painstakingly built by passionate skiers dedicated to the quality and performance of their craft.
