Factory Fridays

Factory Fridays

July 29, 2018

If you haven't been on Instagram in a while, head over to our page to check our our series this summer that we're calling 'Factory Fridays.'  We wanted to let you all into our shop to see how the magic happens while you dream about the powder days on the horizon.

And, while not every ski maker does this, at Lithic, we’re proud to handcraft each and every pair of skis with fully wrapped metal edges. It takes time and precision but the outcome is certainly superior. No caps, no rivets, no de-laminations.

We also recently learned that several of the larger independent ski makers out there don’t actually make their own cores, but rather sub out the work to a third party. We don’t do that and never will. We meticulously handpick our hardwoods and process them from beginning to end right here in our Cascade-based shop. We pay attention to every detail that goes into our skis so you don’t have to.

Enjoy the photos (photo credit: Jake Martinez), and stay tuned for more Factory Fridays this summer.

For Lithic Skis there is no higher calling than crafting the highest quality skis anywhere, ever. As our Washington State-based shop progresses into a fully realized factory, the pride in our craftsmanship grows as well. It would be a mistake, however, to take our confidence as ego-driven. The relationships we build with our customers is based on honest dialogue and a commitment to providing skiers with the best tools to slide down the mountain.
